2020 Animation Exchange Update: The Situation at GDC

We know you’ve most likely been following all the recent cancellations at GDC. Some of you are probably wondering what this means for Animation Exchange 2020.

We’re sorry to announce that, despite our best efforts to keep our schedule and the event going, we have to cancel Animation Exchange this year.

We want to thank everyone who had put so much hard work into this event: our sponsors, our speakers, our interviewees, and everyone supporting us and working diligently behind the scenes to try to make this happen. We also want to thank all of you in the community for tuning in every year. Hanging out with you, whether at the event or in the chat, is the highlight of our year.

Every year, we look forward to bringing a little part of GDC to everyone who can’t attend and it saddens us to have to cancel this year when the amount of people who are unable to come to San Francisco is even greater. We are already looking forward to what we can do at Animation Exchange 2021 and we hope you will join us again next year.

In the meantime, we are looking into other opportunities to make the talks available to all of you in another capacity. We still want to bring you a slice of AnimX this year and we hope to have an update in the near future.
